We like all things creepy so when we saw the teaser trailer for Warner Brothers upcoming horror film, “The Watchers,” it definitely caught our attention.  THEN, when we found out that it was produced by M. Night Shyamalan and was the the feature film directorial debut from his daughter, Ishana Night Shyamalan, we instantly marked our calendar!

The Watchers” is based off the horror novel by A.M. Shine and here is what Warner Brothers had to say about the film adaptation:

From producer M. Night Shyamalan comes “The Watchers,” written for the screen and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan and based on the novel by A.M. Shine. The film follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist, who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night.
You can’t see them, but they see everything.

“The Watchers” stars Dakota Fanning (“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” “Ocean’s Eight”), Georgina Campbell (“Barbarian,” “Suspicion”), Oliver Finnegan (“Creeped Out,” “Outlander”) and Olwen Fouere (“The Northman,” “The Tourist”). The film is produced by M. Night Shyamalan, Ashwin Rajan and Nimitt Mankad. The executive producers are Jo Homewood and Stephen Dembitzer.

Variety Magazine attended a Q and A with the Shyamalan’s and this is what Ishana had to say about  the film:

The filmmaker explained that she was drawn to the classic tale of “a character who gets taken into this very mysterious world that then just keeps expanding and expanding.” Because the book was so “visually rich,” she could already picture the world. “Your imagination just runs wild when you read it. I was so excited by the opportunity of imagining those different spaces he created and playing with that.”

Asked what audiences can expect and Ishana Night said the film “is a journey of suspense that hopefully leads into a feeling of wonder at the end. My hope is it’s an experience that plays on that sense of unease – then takes you to a bigger, wonderful place.”

We are ready for the heebie-jeebies on June 14th when New Line Cinema brings “The Watchers,” to theatersWill you be going to see this one?
